‘Tis the season of giving thanks. Somehow, we’re nearing the end of a year again. We don’t know HOW that is truly even possible, but we’re grateful.


We feel lucky to be surrounded by minds that think beautifully and hands that craft artfully. 


We feel brave to be standing, thinking, and leading from outside the box (what box anyway?)


We feel truly grateful, day in and day out, to be doing the things we love – with you. And if we haven’t yet had the chance to journey together, maybe this is the sign you’ve been waiting for.

Ashley x Samsung - This is Home. Connected.

With the “This is Home. Connected.” concept, POP | X partnered with Ashley Furniture and Samsung to redefine what a retail experience can be, blending the functionality of a showroom with the intimacy of a home setting. By focusing on customer journey design, interactive content, and in-store storytelling, POP | X brought forward a concept that has positioned Ashley Furniture DSG as a leader in connected retail, providing customers with an experience that resonates emotionally and practically, setting a new benchmark in the furniture retail space.

AN IMEX RECAP 


It’s been some time since we’ve been to a convention and knew we’d need some kind of business card – but we don’t’ like boring. And business cards can be (well, most times are) boring and let’s be real…they travel from your pocket (without ever being looked at) to the trash can.


So again, how could we position ourselves outside the (non-existent) box? NFC business cards. One tap and you got our info – no trash can necessary.  


Some things we saw that we loved:  

  • The booths that gave us something to do, to see, to have. Think personalized trucker hats, 10-minute chair massages, a free latte… 

  • Typewriter poets are definitely the new trend (we just used one this weekend at a special event and people loved it!)

  • An opportunity to get a professional headshot taken – yes, please! 

  • Work-life balance is no longer a thing we should be trying to attain. It’s work-life integration. You know how this generation is constantly talking about boundaries – there are people that set them, people that respect them, people that break them and so on.  Well, create them and respect them – for yourself.  Add life into your work schedule, like the early morning workout, the 20-minute phone call with your college roommate you’ve kept in touch with all these years, the evening walk with your dog and kids. Stick to that life schedule the way you stick to your work schedule. If it’s important to you, then it’s important. There is no sliding scale of significance.  

  • The incorporation of wellness – sessions on snacking on the go for busy experience makers, the morning 5k, the mid-day mental break with puppies. 

Some things we didn’t love so much:  

  • Of course we’re pro-sustainability at events. But bamboo utensils with plastic plateware just doesn’t make sense…

  • The traffic lines to get in and out of the convention center were ridiculously long. There has got to be a better way...

We wanted to give a special shout out to GPS Destinations DMC Collective for their unexpected generosity. From a hosted stay at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas (there’s just something about the bowtie motif that is inexplicably sophisticated) to complimentary tickets to Maroon 5, they went above and beyond, and we couldn’t say thank you enough.  


And to the Unique Speakers Bureau, who hosted our CEO, and who anchored Smart Monday with an incredible showcase of speakers who were, well, unique! They captivated the audience in 8 minute snippets of everything from leadership to negotiation to humor. 

Creative Studio

We like to keep things fresh. Nobody likes stale. That’s why we’re heading into a season of rebrand. Reevaluating who we are, rethinking what we do, and reiterating why we do what we do. You know, we wanna be sure you haven’t forgotten why we pop out from the crowd… 


For sure we’re going to continue to revolutionize the retail space in partnership with Ashley and Samsung as we move into at least 10 more stores with an even more incredible tech and lifestyle integrated experience and we’ve got some things we can’t quite talk about yet but are equally groundshaking!  We’ll tell you more when we can... :)
